Suggestions on using anti-static PEI board
1. Introduction to anti-static PEI board materials
Anti static PEI board, Chinese name: polyetherimide, amber transparent solid. It has inherent flame retardancy and low smoke, without any additives. Its oxygen index is 47%, combustion grade is UL94-V-0, and density is 1.28-1.42g/cm3. It has excellent mechanical properties, electrical insulation, radiation resistance, high and low temperature resistance, etc. The thermal deformation temperature reaches 220 ℃, which can be used for a long time under the working temperature of - 160-180 ℃. It belongs to import and export restricted materials, and the price is very expensive.
2. Material application
Due to its strong comprehensive performance, anti-static PEI board is widely used in catering industry, medical equipment, aerospace, automotive industry, automotive lighting, communications and other fields
The application of automobile lamps mainly focuses on these performances:
Anti static PEI board is a thermoplastic material, which has little performance loss during production and processing and can be recycled.
The glass transition temperature is very high, more than 200 ℃;
Aluminum can be plated without primer, which can obtain higher surface quality and adhesion of aluminum layer;
Relatively low density, excellent dimensional stability, and its own low smoke characteristics.
The products mainly include front fog lamp reflector, combined headlamp lens set decorative ring, etc.
The 55W halogen bulb we used before can reach a terrible temperature of about 500 ℃ when working. If you use ordinary high temperature PC or PBT materials in a narrow lamp space (such as the front fog lamp) or a place that is in close contact with the lens components, there will be many restrictions due to thermal deformation, and PEI provides designers with more choices.
3. Is there any other material that can replace the anti-static PEI board
If one material is better than another, it must be compared, and the opponent that Pei wants to change must be BMC. I believe some people are familiar with the thermosetting plastic BMC. BMC itself is not toxic, but you will smell a pungent smell whether you are in contact with raw materials or in the production process. Teacher Fu told us that those who are not married and have children should try not to touch this.
In order to obtain good surface quality and adhesion of the aluminum layer, it is necessary to spray the mirror surface made of BMC material, which requires us and suppliers to establish a spray production line, and many manufacturers are unable to pass this level of environmental protection! In addition, the handling of defective products is a long-standing problem. Our suppliers complained to us that these defective products have no other purpose than landfill. We had to hand over the money to the material recycling manufacturer and ask others to help us deal with them.
4. Introduction and precautions of PEI injection equipment
As far as I know, PEI has many advantages, but actually it has not become the "terminator" of BMC, but the "terminator" of injection molding machine screw. When an inexperienced manufacturer produces PEI products for the first time, the screws are easy to break. Therefore, before producing this kind of product, we must listen to the suggestions of the injection molding machine manufacturer and choose a special injection molding machine or screw assembly. Domestic brand injection molding machines do a good job in this regard.
In addition, PP or other materials should be used to discharge PEI from the screw after production. After high-temperature decomposition, PEI is just like concrete. If the storage operation is forced, there are only two results. One is that the injection molding machine cannot complete the material storage operation, the other is that the screw is broken by the motor.
